PTQ is in early access — one plan, one price, and we build in the open.
PTQ.
Part-Time Quant

You build the strategy.
PTQ tries to kill it.

Built for people who trade around a day job. You write the rules. PTQ tries to show they only worked by luck.

One plan, $997 a year.

Live trading runs on your own computer. You switch it on.

What PTQ does

Build, test, validate, paper

You write the rules. Every step after that exists to catch a backtest fooling you. The loop ends in paper trading, not promises.

Build

You write every rule. No code. What trades is yours, never rented.

Strategy builder — a real strategy draft, risk engine ruling live

Backtest

Real market history, in a real engine. Every run is stamped with where its data came from.

Backtest run — real engine output — the gates later blocked this strategy

Validate

Three tests hunt for luck before any order exists. Most strategies fail here. That is the point.

Validation gates — a real verdict — this run was blocked

Paper first

Real prices, fake money, every fill labelled. Live runs on your computer, behind a switch you press.

Risk, ruled server-side

Your limits are checked before an order exists. A trade that would breach one never gets made.

Execution, paper first

Orders are checked against your limits first. Simulated fills say simulated.

Most strategies fail the gate.
That is the product.

PTQ exists to stop you trading rules that only worked in hindsight.

Many horizontal lines enter from the left and pass through four narrow gates in turn. Fewer continue past each one, until a single line reaches the right and ends in a marked dot.
Evidence, not testimonials

What the gate actually computes

How likely it is that your backtest was luck rather than signal.

Probability of backtest overfitting

Bailey, Borwein, López de Prado & Zhu, Journal of Computational Finance 20(4), 2017.

Corrects the headline score for everything you tried before it.

Deflated Sharpe ratio

Bailey & López de Prado, Journal of Portfolio Management 40(5), 2014.

Your rules are scored on data they never saw. In-sample brilliance counts for nothing.

Out-of-sample holdout

Standard practice; the split is shown on every run.

We have no testimonials because we have no members yet. When we do, and they say something worth quoting, it will appear here.

All questions →

Will PTQ make me money?
We make no promises about performance, and you should distrust anyone who does. PTQ's job is the opposite: to show you, with the statistics allocators use, when a strategy's backtest is likely overfit. Most strategies fail that test.
Is this a signals service?
No. PTQ never tells you what to trade. You author your own strategy; the product backtests it, validates it and paper trades it. Live trading runs on your own machine, behind an arm step you click yourself.
Do you hold my broker keys or my money?
No and no. Broker keys live on your machine and never reach our servers. Your money stays at your broker. The hosted platform holds neither.
What does it cost?
$997 a year, one plan, everything in it. Nothing is issued before payment: no licence key, no credits, no access.
What does the subscription include?
Everything PTQ does, on one plan: the hosted platform with the strategy builder, backtesting, the validation gate and paper trading with clearly labelled simulated fills; the PTQ OS on your own machine; the Claude connector; the Pine export; and live trading behind the arm step. Compute and support chat are metered by a credit allowance included in the plan.
